Boxing

Described as “The Sweet Science,” since the turn of the century, boxing is not just about using the fists. It is a science of strategy, defense, diversions, and instinct. Boxing improves fitness by building aerobic and anaerobic strength, speed and agility, muscular and physical endurance, while learning a practical self-defense. You will be engaged and motivated learning an art, while at the same time, getting in the best shape of your life.

We provide one-on-one training for first-time participants focusing on the basics.

An ALL LEVELS class incorporates:

Jump rope and dynamic stretching (warm up)
Shadow boxing without a partner, using combinations (e.g. jab-cross-hook) demonstrated by the instructor.
Partner drills – Each partner takes their turn performing the combination while the instructor provides feedback. These drills are done in timed rounds and include the use of focus mitts and a variety of boxing bags.
Technique drills
Endurance work
Calisthenics and cool down

Training is done without injury to participants or their partners through the use of proper equipment and protective gear.

 

Muay Thai

Known as the “Science of Eight Limbs, ” Muay Thai utilizes 8 points of the body: the fists, legs, knees, and elbows – making it one of the most effective martial arts. This intense, whole body workout includes - strengthening the core to execute kicks and knees; toning legs and the upper body to execute punches; building power for explosive movements; and improving aerobic capacity with endurance drills.  Learning an ancient art with authentic Thai style teaching, will keep you engaged and motivated while you get into the best shape of your life.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class is a martial art, combat sport, and a self defense system that focuses on grappling and specifically ground fighting.  We incorporate the traditional BJJ belt promotion, giving the student an exact measure of his/her progress.  

This class begins with warm-up which includes calisthenics and BJJ drills. After warm-up you will pair up with a partner and practice the technique of the day. The last portion of the class is spent on sparring, otherwise known as ‘rolling,’ which is submitting your opponent and obtaining dominant positions (e.g mounting, passing someone’s guard, or takedowns).  All other days, Gis are required.

This is an All Levels class – no experience is necessary.

 

Kid's Muay Thai

Punching and kicking is the smallest aspect within the art of Muay Thai; Discipline, respect, humility and courage are the most important lessons that every Muay Thai practitioner must learn.  Muay Thai is one of the oldest Martial Arts and is traditionally taught at an early age to the children of Thailand to help all children learn the skills that will help them develop into a person of integrity and inner strength.  Here at True Fight Club we have developed a Kids Muay Thai program that captures this true spirit of the art. Watch your child develop their physical abilities/fitness and mental focus while making new friends and having fun learning exciting new skills that boost their overall confidence. Our instructors know how to keep children involved and excited about the martial arts.  By instilling discipline and pride, we can even help out if you’re having behavioral problems with your child at home. We get involved with all of our students because we want everyone to benefit from what we have to offer and we want every child to be able to take through life all of the lessons that Muay Thai can teach.

 

Kid's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Program will arm your child with a host of positive mental and physical skills that will help him/her in school, at home and in life! As your child will learn to succeed, you’ll see a new kind of discipline emerging… the kind that will positively affect all areas of his or her life. You’ll notice an increased respect for others, and most importantly, for him / herself. This kind of powerful mind/body connection will make them unstoppable when faced with difficulties in life.

Watch your child’s energy, confidence, and spirit rise while he or she becomes strong and confident. We’re not just talking about physical strength, but the kind of strength it takes to resist peer pressure and other negative aspects of life.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a non-striking self-defense martial art system based on leverage and control over the opponent. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is considered to be one of the best self defenses for kids and adults since it’s applied in response to physical aggression, so there’s no need to worry about your child becoming violent.
